Lesson Four

In this lesson, you will learn how to tell time. Below are times of the o'clock. Please beware that at times the times are the same.
For example
, sip (10) moong (chaao) / sii (4) moong (chaao)..
these two times are 10 in the morning, eventhough the sii meant 4.

Note: I am  no longer use the color pink and blue to depict the differences between male and female. If so, it will be an indication.

What time is it? [wee-laa tao-rai (or) gii moong (leeo)].

Gii tum (leeo) is only use at night time.

A.M: Chaao is morning. also you can tell time two ways.

12 hok tum/ tiang-kuun
1 dtii nung
2 dtii sawng
3 dtii saam
4 dtii sii
5 dtii haa
6 hok moong (chaao)
7 jet moong (chjaao) / nung moong (chaao)
8 bpat moong (chaao) / sawng moong (chaao)
9 gaao moong (chaao) / saam moong (chaao)
10 sip moong (chaao) / sii moong (chaao)
11 sip-et moong (chaao) / haa moong (chaao)

P.M: Tiang is noon. Baai is afternoon. Yen is evening.

12 tiang/tiang wan / dtawn tiang
1 baai nung moong / nung moong
2 (baai) sawng moong
3 (baai) saam moong
4 (baai) sii moong / sii moong yen
5 (baai) haa moong / haa moong yen
6 hok moong (yen)
7 (nung) tum
8 sawng tum
9 saam tum
10 sii tum
11 haa tum

Interesting huh? It is not complicated as it looks.
When you get use to it, it is like you talking in Khmer.
